Shetland Sheepdogs are one of the most wonderful breeds of dogs. Extremely intelligent, funloving, active dogs, they are very easy to train, are eager to please, and excell at obedience, agility, herding and are great therapy and companion animals. Generally they range in size from 13 inches to 17 inches and are medium in build. They come in a large range of colors, with the 'Lassie' sable and white being the most popular. Known as very vocal dogs, they make excellent watchdogs, and are very protective of their property. Yes they shed, mostly just once a year in large amounts, but some is to be expected year round. I've always felt that if a recipe didn't call for Sheltie fur, it ought to.

I have looked into feeding the girls an all raw diet, and it sure makes sense to me as a much more natural and nutritious way of feeding our carnivorous pets. The animals sure seem to love it! I did a bit of research and found a great book on the subject- "Natural Nutrition for Dogs and Cats" by Kymythy R. Schultze. I read it cover to cover, and it made perfect sense to me! So now the animals are enjoying raw meat, vegies, some raw chicken bones and a few additives and oils for extra nutrition. They absolutely love it!
